Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can GPR detect objects in salt water?

A: No, conductivity due to the salt solution dissipates the radar signal . However, Radarscan has performed work on fresh water lakes, rivers, ponds, etc.

Q: How deep can the radar signal penetrate to locate objects?

A: The radar signal velocity is dependent on the type of soil ( see chart ). The smaller the object at a great depth, and depending on the soil type,
the less chance there is on detecting it. Please e-mail us your request to determine if GPR is the proper technology.

Q: Do you rent the instrumentation?

A: No, Radarscan Inc. will perform the work requirements, or sell the equipment.

Q: How much does the equipment cost?

A: The basic lowest cost instrument is $20,000.00 USD . Top models with all software, laptop computer, etc. compare @ $40,000.00 USD . Please contact us for your requirements.
